Kailh Box Navy Clicky Switches Switches Kailh

Kailh Box Navy Clicky Switches

Kailh Box Navy switches are the ultimate choice for users who crave a heavy, highly tactile, and audibly "clicky" typing experience. As part of Kailh’s "Thick Click" series, they feature a thicker click bar that produces a deeper, more resonant sound and a much sharper tactile bump than standard clicky switches. With a heavy spring and significant resistance, they are designed for those who want to feel—and hear—every single deliberate keystroke.

Key Features of Kailh Box Navy Switches:

  • Thick Click Bar Technology: Features a reinforced click bar that generates a louder, deeper click on both the downstroke and the upstroke.
  • Extreme Tactile Feedback: Provides a massive, crisp tactile bump that is significantly more pronounced than traditional Blue or Green switches.
  • BOX Structural Design: The "box" surrounding the stem protects against dust and moisture (IP56 rated) while significantly reducing stem wobble for a more stable feel.
  • High Durability: Engineered for longevity and precision, with a lifespan rated for up to 80 million keystrokes.

Compatible Keyboards

Kailh Box Navy switches are compatible with mechanical keyboards that use standard MX-style hot-swappable sockets. Popular examples include:

  • Keychron keyboards (e.g., K-series, Q-series, V-series)
  • Glorious GMMK and GMMK Pro
  • Anne Pro 2, Ducky One 3, and various enthusiast-grade custom builds

Note: These switches use a 3-pin (Plate Mount) design and are compatible with almost all hot-swap PCBs, including those designed for Gateron, Cherry, and Kailh switches.

Why Choose Kailh Box Navy Switches?

If you find standard clicky switches too light or "tinny," the Kailh Box Navy is the "heavyweight champion" of the clicky world. They offer a unique "thocky-click" sound profile and a heavy 60g actuation force (with a much higher 95g tactile peak). Compared to Box Jades, the Navys provide a stiffer spring that prevents the keys from feeling sluggish, making them the gold standard for tactile purists.

Ideal for Tactile Enthusiasts and Heavy-Handed Typists

Whether you are a writer who loves a rhythmic, typewriter-like feedback or a user who wants to eliminate accidental inputs through sheer physical resistance, Kailh Box Navys deliver an unmatched sensory experience. Due to their volume and weight, they are best suited for home offices or private setups where their signature "click" can be truly appreciated.

Video: The Ultimate KAILH BOX NAVY Sound Test | Heavy spring with Thick Click!

Creator: Click and Thock

This sound test was recorded and published by Click and Thock. We do not own this recording and claim no rights over it — full credit goes to the creator. It plays here through YouTube's own player so you can hear the switch before buying, and so the creator receives the view.

Bear in mind a sound test always reflects the keyboard, keycaps and mods it was recorded on, so the same switch can sound different in your own build.

Frequently asked questions

What do the Kailh Box Navy Clicky Switches feel like?

Clicky, so you get both a tactile bump and a sharp audible click as the key registers. It is easily the loudest of the three types - excellent for typing feedback, less popular in a shared office or on a voice call.

That makes the Kailh Box Navy Clicky Switches a clicky switch - if you have used a clicky switch before and liked it, these will feel familiar.

They actuate at 75g, which counts as a heavy switch.

As a rough guide, under 45g is light and fast but easier to press by accident, 45-60g suits most people for both typing and gaming, and above 60g is deliberate and firm - popular with heavy-handed typists who want to avoid mistakes.

The key registers after 1.8mm and bottoms out at 3.6mm of total travel.

A shorter actuation distance means the keypress is picked up sooner, which is why speed switches shorten it for gaming. A longer one gives you more room to rest your fingers on the keys without triggering them.

No - these ship unlubed.

That is normal at this price and many people fit them exactly as they are. If you want them smoother and quieter you can hand-lube them yourself with a switch opener and a thin lube such as Krytox 205g0 - it is a slow job, but it makes a noticeable difference.

These are 3-pin (plate mount) switches.

It has three pins: two metal contact pins and one central plastic post. 3-pin switches drop straight into plate-mounted and hot-swap keyboards. If your board is PCB-mounted and expects 5-pin switches, a 3-pin switch still works - it just relies on the plate for stability.

This listing is sold in packs of 1, 5, 10, 35, 70, 90, 110.

As a guide: a 60% keyboard needs about 61-68 switches, a TKL about 87, and a full-size board about 104. It is worth ordering a few spare in case one is faulty or you lose one during the build. If you only want to try the feel before committing, buy a single switch first.
